Pepsi Logo History & Meaning

The Pepsi mark grew out of the brand's spinning red, white and blue globe, first introduced in the 1940s and refined repeatedly over the following decades. For 2023, marking the brand's 125th anniversary, PepsiCo's in-house design team led by Chief Design Officer Mauro Porcini reworked the identity for the first time since 2008. The new look nods to the 1987-1997 era by setting an uppercase wordmark inside the central white band of the globe, while adding an electric blue and a black borrowed from Pepsi Zero Sugar. A custom typeface, Pepsi Owners, was drawn to give the wordmark a more confident, modern feel.
